Daddy news for singer John Mayer? Wow, he and Jen are moving fast....
....except he's not going to be that kind of daddy, at least not that I'm aware of - yet. I get your hopes up quite a bit, only to dash them. My apologies. Anyway, Mayer is reportedly being considered to be godfather to Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz's baby.
Pete and John have become quite the buddies, this, according to their respective blogs. I've not read them, and probably never will. But luckily a "source" has something to say about the matter.
"Pete and John have been spending a lot of time together lately and they get on so well.
"They are firm friends. John gets a bad rap and is always portrayed as a bad boy but he's got a heart of gold. Pete and Ashlee know that and they think he would make a great godparent."
However, there's a slight snag. Snag as in Jessica, Ashlee's big sis. Ya, see? She and John used to have sex and that might make things a tad aaaawkward.
The source continued, "But they are holding back asking him at the moment because they are not sure how Ashlee's sister Jessica would feel about her ex having such a strong link to her new niece."
Oh the celebrity drama!
Emo baby is due in late fall, by "rumored C-section" because Ashlee is scared of natural childbirth. Hey, don't knock it until you've tried it.
