Actor Shelley Malil of '40 Year Old Virgin' fame, was arrested Monday after allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend, Kendra Beebe, at her home, in front of her two children.  Malil and Beebe and the kids were together just the day before, heading to the beach for some family time.

Malil is now being held in jail and bond has been set at $2 million.  Reportedly, Malil's family were trying to convince him to turn himself in to police but he was arrested in Oceanside, CA after he had boarded a train going from San Diego to Los Angeles.

The stabbing took place sometime shortly before 9 p.m. in San Marcos, CA.  Malil arrived at Beebe's home and found her in her backyard with another man.  He then grabbed a knife and stabbed Kendra several times and then chased her into her house.  The unidentified male in the backyard, tried to stop the attack and he was also stabbed in the hand.

A neighbor of Beebe's said she had heard screaming and that Shelley stabbed his ex at least 20 times.  The neighbor added that the children were present during the attack.  Another neighbor, Mrs. Lee, said that she saw Malil flee the scene and found Beebee severly injured and helped apply pressure to the wounds to stop the blood flow.

Mrs. Lee said, "Her chin was almost entirely cut off.  She had a huge gash in her arm that looked like a really deep wound that was bleedly profusely.  She asked me to hold her and I could feel a lot of gashes in her back as well."

Kendra Beebe has been listed in critical condition but is expected to survive.  What a horrible thing for her poor children to witness, I can't even imagine the terror they felt.

We hope that Ms. Beebe makes a full recovery!
